Classical books: Okay. So. I've always loved reading, right? And lately I've been interested in reading some of the classical books you're supposed to read in school cuz they're, you know, classics and great literature and all, except you sorta hate to, because it's so godsdamned boring. BUT. I've found if you don't read it in school, they really are quite enjoyable. Like, now I'm on Gone With The Wind, which, though I've read it before, it's still really good. Next planned is Don Quixote, and maybe one of the Jane Austin books. Ooh, and I wanna try Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.

Phoenix Wright: Totally Hope's fault. I joined stedelweiss  and, of course, had heard of Phoenix Wright. I mean, it's a pretty popular game. But it sounded kinda stupid, because it's a point-and-click game about lawyers, and you don't get much duller than that. BUT. Hope joined Edelweiss with Edgeworth, and I mean, come on. He's so epic. With the tea and the grammar and the quite and just-- baw, I love him. So I figured, well, even if the rest of the game's kinda boring, it'd be fun to see Edgeworth's canon, right? Yes. Well. I did. And it wsa not boring. Quite charming, and cute, and everything had a happy ending, and it was just really fun. Surprisingly so, really.

Memes: I like them. Especially Edelweiss ones. They usually last for days, too-- I think my personal record is making one last a full week, up until the next meme. And hey, they're sometimes helpful for RP, too! You can mess around with situations without having them actually affect your character. My favorite's gotta be  this essay writing one, where everybody'd ask you random questions about your characters-- ones ranging from, "Why did he do thus-and-such?" to "What's his favorite color?" It put you on the spot a bit, but helped really establish a lot of things.

Cleverness: This is-- weird to explain. I just really appreciate clever things. Puns, or well done jokes, or whatever. They make me laugh more than any other sort of humor. I think it's why I love musicals like Camelot so much-- the lyrics are so subtle and clever, and make rhymes and puns you wouldn't think of on first basis. 

Nostalgia Critic: THIS RELATES TO CLEVERNESS. He's hilarious, and seriously one of the things I can count on to cheer me up. Have to give credit to Maddi for making me watch him. <3 HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORSE. The jokes are clever and exactly what you're thinking as you re-watch all the old movies/shows from your childhood, and he mocks them with affectionate scorn. It's like MST3K, in a way, only not really. :<

1776: Bawwwwww, my big old fandom from last year. Hell, I was into this, you have no idea. I actually didn't bother paying attention at all in my history class when we covered this era, becasue I'd learned it all from interest springing from 1776. It really was an interesting time, and you sorta got a great appreciatation for John Adams and all them back then. And hey, it was a musical, which is always amazing. And yes. I shipped Adams/Jefferson. TWU LOVE don't ya know.

Newsies: BAWWWWWWW MY FANDOM FROM NOW. God, I love Newsies. It's really not that spectacular of a movie, I'm prepared to admit. I mean, it's corny, it's silly, it's unrealistic and has some pretty big plot holes. But baw, the story itself is just so-- happy and full of childish drama, and all the good guys win in the end. The fandom is small, but has some amazing writers, not gonna lie. I think the reason I've kept with it for so long is because I RP Jack over at Edelweiss, truth be told, but whatever the reason-- the movie and fandom never fails to make me smile, and cheer me up when I'm down a bit.

Also, it's full of teenage boys who are quite attractive and sing and dance. :D There's that, too.

I'm off to pick up Gran and head for Bella Italia, which is this fancy Italian restaurant. The food promises to be good and the mother promises that Gran won't stay for coffee, so not a bad Easter overall.

FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK though I don't wanna head back to school. Selfish of me to say, because it's just this stupid English paper I'm fussing over, and don't wanna do, and just-- I don't know. I don't wanna go to school again. At least it's only this week and half a week next week and then prom motherfucker, which means I have to get my sorry ass in gear and get a DRESS.

But then I go and visit Hope and Amasa <3 so that'll be nice too. And early, too! :D 


stedelweiss  is keeping me sane, per usual. And makes me laugh and bawww and all sorts of good things.

I really ought to post something with more substance, but, ah, well.

Anyway. So. There was a drabble/fanworks challenge recently, and I rose to the challenge and answered two.

Prompt: Future AU family reunion.
Basically, Jack Kelly (Newsies), Edgeworth (Phoenix Wright) Yuffie and Reeve (Final Fantasy) reuniting years after Edelweiss. Er. Fair warning. I wrote this on about two hours of sleep.

( Three years, five months and twenty-nine days )

Prompt Two: Jack convinces Edgeworth to break a petty law - e.g., jaywalking, drinking in public, spitting on the sidewalk, seeing an R-rated movie underage, etc.

Oldstarnewshine and I marathoned Lord of the Rings for ten and a half hours.

Naturally, towards the end we got a bit punch-drunk.

As Frodo and Sam approach  Minas Morgul , Maddi asks what that was.

I proceed to, ah, say that it was, "The, y'know, place-- place where the Nazgul live."

"Isn't that Mordor?"

"No, no, it's like-- uh, it's like the little-- little side-house-- like a little bungalow they all live in. It's like an off-shoot of Mordor."

"...a bungalow."

"Mm."

"That sounds like a sitcom. 'Nine Nazgul in one crazy house! Watch what happens!"

So what else . . . I had a shit day, because there was, you know, a bomb threat, but also a chemistry test that I'm pretty sure I bombed. Like-- it was all on moles? And when I do that shit with my tutor, I sort of get it? But not, apparenetly, on the test. So fuck that. And then in English I failed a reading check. I am slightly comforted by the fact everyone failed that, but. Still. And then there was a bomb scare.

BUT.

At least the day got better when I came home. Hope called and I'm going into New York (!!!!) tomorrow to wander around with them. And I'm taking the train, which, BRI, YES, MY MOTHER IS TRUSTING ME ON THE TRAIN. SO. THERE'S NO WAY SHE CAN DENY YOU AND ME GOING IN APRIL. <33 And I went to bed at 6:30 (haha, smart, right?) because I was exhausted. Except obviously not exhausted enough, because I just woke up.

BUT. I have my ipod, and while I was asleep my darling, beautiful mother went and bought me Queen of the Damned and Watchmen. So I'm gonna read them both tonight. Watchmen first, so I can catch up with the rest of the world. But god, I'm really into the whole Vampire Chronicles right now. Haha, god, I didn't think I would, either, but Lestat is so much love. And Lestat/Lewis. and just. Yes.

So that was my hectic day. I'm actually taking a night off from Edelweiss (holy shit what. what.) because I'm still mentally tired? And I dunno. I love that place, but it's draining sometimes. So I'm gonna curl up and read. And play Phoenix Wright, yessss. And then, if I can't get to sleep by then, watch Newsies. You can't be miserable while watching Newsies. It's impossible.
